El Paso Votes to Legalize Drugs!


Actually, City Council Representative Beto O’Rourke (along with all of the El Paso City Council members) voted unanimously to ask legislators to take a different approach with the 40-year, failing, War on Drugs. O’Rourke said the following about the war on drugs and the drug war in Juarez, “It’s a terrible situation that calls for a more dramatic solution than just asking for stepped up enforcement,” O’Rourke said. “What I asked for today and the council approved was urging our representatives to have an honest, open dialogue about ending the prohibition on narcotics.” O’Rourke appeared on Rick Sanchez’s news show on CNN and on Lou Dobbs, following Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
