Moda Urbana 8.18.09: Summer Survival Style
It’s the dead of summer. It’s 5 p.m. and the temperature is 99 degrees. There is not a cloud in the sky or the slightest hint of rain. And yet, umbrellas (or sunbrellas) seem to be the accessory of choice. These powerful yet colorful sun shields are seen all over the downtown vicinity during the long summer months.
Of course, you would never know it was inching toward triple-digit temperatures looking at today’s Moda Urbana. This decidedly hip urbanite with a love of vintage layering knew how to keep it cool with a (somewhat ironically) snowflake-patterned umbrella.
With some H2O, a courageous willingness to brave the summer heat and sunbrellas, the downtown ladies know their summer survival style.
Moda Urbana photographers search the El Paso streets, armed only with a camera, to photograph smartly-dressed citizens and post the photos on this blog.
