Meet Fabian Valenzuela, El Paso Culture Examiner
The San Francisco Examiner.com hires Examiners to cover local markets. According to the website, “We’re seeking people like you who have in-depth knowledge about a particular topic, a passion about that topic and a desire to share related insights with others.” And Fabian Valenzuela, El Paso High grad and UTEP student, has been hired as the El Paso Culture Examiner. His online bio states “Born in Denver, Colorado, Fabian Valenzuela moved to El Paso in 1988 to be closer to family in Juarez, Mexico. He attended El Paso High School and went on to the University of Texas at El Paso. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree at UTEP and is a part of the Alternative Teacher Certification Program in order to become a social studies teacher. Fabian’s undergraduate studies included anthropology and sociology; he hopes this gives him a different, unbiased perspective about the culture on the border. If you would like to give feedback, contact Fabian at firstname.lastname@example.org.”
Valenzuela focuses on Immigration and the border and has a few posts on those topics. It’s good to see a local voice talking about El Paso in an out of market publication. Click here to read more.
