Own that title!

A few weeks ago, TotalBeauty.com deemed El Paso men the ugliest in the nation. It’s even inspired commentary from other cities ranked below El Paso. (Here is one from Mobile, Alabama, titled “Feeling Ugly? Go to El Paso.”)

Now, people of El Paso can own that title with El Chuco Ugly shirts. From their website:

Don’t look in the mirror El Paso men. Total Beauty.com claims you are the ugliest dudes in the country. Represent with one of our shirts. Proceeds go to charity

Their line includes pet bowls, aprons and canvas totes, so you can wear your El Chuco Ugly pride at all times of the day. Or give the El Chuco Ugly pride this holiday season for a good-humored friend.

Rosanne Aguilar was crowned Miss New Mexico on Saturday and is on her way to the Miss USA pageant in Las Vegas. The 23-year-old is a biology major at UTEP and is the second UTEP student to go to the national pageant. UTEP volleyball player Kelsey Moore was crowned Miss Texas earlier this year.

Rosanne’s sister Raelene was crowned Miss New Mexico 2008 and was also a UTEP student.

From their press release:

The El Paso Police Department now has an official “Facebook” page.  The Department realizes that networking websites such as “Facebook” are a great tool for law enforcement to get information out to the community we serve.  Under the philosophy of Community Policing, we are trying to ensure we are able to reach our publics.  A large part of our society is on the web, and we need to ensure we are where our community is.  This “Facebook” page is not replacing our website, but just an additional way the public can reach us and get information.  Our page will include upcoming events, safety tips and will have information on wanted persons and missing persons.
