Moda Urbana 7.21.09: Fun with scarves

A scarf in the dead of summer is a very bold fashion statement. Kudos to Cynthia the intern who chose to wear her grandmother’s scarf as an accent to an otherwise inappropriate office dress, the tube top dress. See how Cynthia drapes the scarf in a long circular way, blocking the eye from cleavage while dressing up a very casual outfit. This girl has fashion sense and elegance.-Lisa Degliantoni

El Paso makes pages of Saveur magazine

El Paso has made it into the pages of Saveur magazine (in the travel section) and that means we look gorgeous, El Paso! Here’s a snippet, “For lunch they are making salpic├│n, a salad of shredded meat eaten throughout Mexico, Central America, and parts of South America. In some places it’s made with chicken; in others, with fish. In El Paso and Chihuahua, it features beef brisket lightly dressed with lime and chipotle.”

Also listed on the group page is photos from El Paso gardens that will inspire just about anyone to plant some seeds in some dirt! Pictured below is a recent harvest from my garden, lettuce.-Lisa Degliantoni

One of our political contributors at Newspaper Tree, Jaime Abeytia, had a job interview today and we’re posting his photo so all the other boys in the world know what to wear to a job interview. Interview attire; simple black shoes with black socks, white shirt (that has been ironed properly), solid red tie and navy suit with white stripes. Good job looking chic, Jaime, we hope your interview went well.
