The 3rd annual Dog Lover’s Fair will be at the El Paso Saddleblanket this weekend and there will be fun, food, music, exhibits, contests, prizes. The proceeds for this event will be donated to the Humane Society of El Paso.

Lemony Snicket at the Plaza

Daniel Handler, who wrote the Series of Unfortunate Events book series, will be at the Plaza Theater on Oct. at 5 p.m. Titled Merry Moments of Music and Mischief, the night will be one of “wit, humor and brilliance.” There will be a book selling and signing 4-7 p.m. in the Plaza Theater lobby.

Book Fair with A-list performers

The Great Southwest Book Fair will be held at the Main Library, Saturday  Oct. 31, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The lineup includes, authors Joe Hayes, Xavier Garza, Graciela Limon, Claudia Martinez, Rich Mussler and Hal Marcus. Carlos Fuentes, an internationally  renowned author will be at the Plaza Theater from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The book fair will include spooky stories, trick or treat parade with costumes and candy. The The El Paso Convention & Performing Arts Centers are teaming up with the Toys for Tots, a non-profit manned by the United States Marine Corps.

To take part, you can bring new, unwrapped toys to these events.
